Maintenance Technician

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Broadcast Technician can provide support and assistance for technical operations related to 24x7 TV stations. The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, technical aptitude, and excellent people skills. The job requires assisting the engineering staff in designing and fabricating new cables and equipment that will improve the station’s operation. This includes cabling, racking, and cable terminations, as well as providing logistics support for broadcast products and remote devices. You will also contribute to the day-to-day operations of a 24x7 live broadcast TV station.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Assist engineering staff in designing and fabricating new cables and equipment mounts.

• Manage cabling, racking, and cable terminations.

• Provide logistics support for broadcast products and remote devices.

• Contribute to the day-to-day operation of the TV station.

• Support and maintain all broadcasting equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and correct problems in various broadcast devices.

• Report equipment problems, ensure repairs are made, and make emergency repairs to equipment when

necessary and possible.

• Converse with station personnel and monitor audio and video levels to ensure programs are airing

correctly.

• Adjust equipment to maintain quality signals for reliable broadcasts.

• Install broadcast equipment, troubleshoot equipment problems and perform maintenance or minor

repairs using hand tools.

• Discuss production requirements with respective engineers.

• Operate and set up broadcast equipment, including cameras, microphones, lighting, and audio devices.

• Perform event staging tasks for planned and unplanned events, assess requirements, and coordinate with

team members throughout planning and execution.

• Coordinate closely with producers and other team members to manage and fulfil requirements,

equipment, and logistics.

• Perform other duties as assigned by managers/engineers.

• Perform additional duties that fall outside your job title or key duties

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in TV broadcast.

EDUCATION

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.

SKILLS


• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to handle multiple tasks.

• Able to plan and execute tasks independently and as a team member.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues are essential.

• The applicant should be able to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks

simultaneously.

KNOWLEDGE


• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Able to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 TV environment including overnight, weekends and holidays assignment.
